A New Addition

Published by Joe under Family

We’re expecting Baby # 2 this coming April 2010.  At first there were some complications to the pregnancy but with God’s help all has turned out well so far.

Last Thursday, we happily found out that Baby # 2 will be a BOY!!!  Obviously, I’m as happy as can be and can’t wait to see the little munchkin.

Joselyn shares my excitement as well.  She’s been asking us to ‘buy’ a new baby brother or sister for quite awhile now.  And now that she will be a big sister, she can’t hardly wait!  I know for a fact she will be a GREAT big sister.

Junalyn is happy as well, she’s always wanted a boy and a girl and now with God’s blessing we all have our wishes :-) .

Today, we paid a visit to good o’le Babies R Us to check out all the new baby products they have.   Also to reminisce how it was 7 years ago when we expecting our first bundle of joy.  Al in all, it was a very pleasant and heartwarming visit.  We can’t wait!!

San Diego

Published by Joe under Family

Were currenly staying at the Hilton Bayshores hotel and will be checking out in a couple of hours. This little family vacation has been a much needed R and R.
We left LA Last Friday after work and got here around 7pm, we then had dinner at the fox grill restaurant inside the hotel then just called it a night.

Saturday – we went to Sea World and jojo had a blast! She was about 2 years old the last time we visited. We watched the Shamu show @ 1030 then the Sea Lion showan hour later. After that we got drenched in a raft/water ride, this was much needed since it was HOT, we then watched the Dolphin show. We then proceeded have lunch after that and just relaxed. We ended the day by winning some shamu/ penguin stuffed animals at the arcade.

So now well be heading back to LA/LB and probably just hang out tomorrow

TGIF!

Published by Joe under Family

Friday tomorrow and we’re planning on going to Disneyland on Saturday for the fireworks show. We got our season passes at the beginning of the year and we’ve been going there at least a couple of times a week since. Jojo’s big enough to go on most of the rides so we’re actually experiencing Disneyland in much more detail than we did when she was like 2 years old.

Workwise, I finally got permanently hired. My official hire date was Jan 2 2009.. So basically I was a temp for about 6 months. That ain’t too bad, I’m just glad that I’m actually accruing vacation time, have benefits and 401K too. It isn’t like I needed benefits, since I’m under my wife’s plan but it’s nice to know it’s there if I ever need it.

We got FIOS and I’m loving the 20Mbit Downstream and 5Mbit Upstream. I can download a DVD in like 30 minutes which is a good thing. Not to say I use it to download movies, but it’s nice to have that type of speed for what I need it for.

We’ve been living in Junes parent’s house for about 7 months now, and haven’t saved didddly squat. We’ve been eating out too much and spending money on things that we really don’t need. We gotta stop that! I thought we’d have out head on straight when we moved back here but we’re just spending like we did when we lived here before. Things have got to change and It starts with me, I need to set an example but it’s just too hard with all the things that we can do here in LA. In South Carolina, there was nothing to do, so we could save. But here in LA, $500.00 goes really quick in a weekend. It’s all about will power and well we gotta do it if we wanna buy a home in Southern California.

Peace folks.. we’re gonna watch a movie and then knock out. Got work at 6:00 AM tomorrow.

October Is Here

Published by Joe under Daily Blabber, Family

Wow can’t believe that it’s already October, this summer just flew by. Nothing much to write up about in my boring ass life, I’m still working at fidelity but I’m working the morning shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.. Yes I said 6:00 AM as in the MORNING.. It took me about a week but I’m getting used to waking up early to make it to work on time….

Jojo got the student of the month on her first month in Kindergarten!!! They had a big awards ceremony last Friday and they gave out the awards/certificates to all the kids that got the honors on various grades.. Ahh the joys of parenthood.. I’m soooooooo proud of my little OVERACHIEVER!!! LOL on top of that, June got the employee of the month @ UPS a couple of months ago.. hehe like mother like daughter!!!

Can’t wait for the Lakers to start playing again, the season starts at the end of this month and this season will be a doooozy..

We’re starting to pay off most of our credit card bills.. Today we paid off Junalyn’s Capital One for $1300 and next up is Best Buy for about $3K then a couple of other cards and we’ll be DEBT FREE!!

Got a new pair of glasses today and I can see so much better with them, along with the glasses i’m actually gonna start using contacts too.. It feels good when I have them on.. its like a whole new world out there heh!

OK its past 8:00 PM and I gotta get ready for bed……. gotta wake up by 4:30 in the MORNING!!! Yikes!

Just An Update.. (Long Due)

Published by Joe under Family

OK I haven’t blogged as often as I’d like to and I apologize.. Really no other reason why I haven’t blogged expect that I’ve been LAZY…  So just as an update….

I’m still working at Fidelity National, I’ve been there almost three months and that job is pretty cool and stress free.  I started working at nights but thankfully I got my shift changed to days.. That’s a good thing since I get to see jojo and june more often.

Speaking of the family.. some pretty cool news regarding both of them.. Junalyn got employee of the month last month and Joselyn is going to receive the student of the month in her FIRST month of kindergarten.. That has really gotten me excited and proud of my little girl… well both of my girls heh.!

As I’m typing this.. we are currently staying athe Marriot Courtyard in Palos Verdes.. We just decided to stay here for the night on a spontaneous binge and we’ve had a really fun time.. Jojo’s been swimming and we ate a curry house for a late lunch/early dinner and she’s having a blast…

So I’m about to knock out now and tomorrow we’re gonna go swimming again.. then after that we’ll figure out what we want to do.. Soo for now g-nite..

Can’t believe out little one is actually starting “real” school.  She’ll start kindergarten on Sept. 4th and will be going to Bethany Christian School.  She can’t wait to start going to school and we’re excited as well.

We’re In LA

Published by Joe under Family

We’re back in LA, we’ve been back for about a week.  It took us 4 1/2 days to drive here, it was fun but LONG.
It took me about 2 days to find a job  which is a good thing, but the job won’t start until June 30th so that means I still got two weeks to go without a paycheck. =-/.  It pays about the same as what I was making in South Carolina, but after 3 months I will get a bump in pay.  Currently we’re living at Junalyn’s parent’s house in the DEN.  It’s free so I can’t complain.  But I REALLY miss my HOME in SC =/.
Lakers a down 3-1 to the friggen Celtics and could be done tomorrow, but I still have faith.. They can pull off the impossible if they win the next three. It does seem unlikely but I believe they can do it.

Still Alive

Published by Joe under Family

Yes just as the title reads, I’m still alive. Although I haven’t blogged in over a month ALOT has happened. In short summary:
  • I quit my job, my last day was today and we’re moving back to LA
  • My wife has been in LA for the last 3 weeks and will be flying back on Saturday to drive back to LA with me.
  • She’s been working there and have been looking for a place for us to stay
  • But in the meanwhile we’ll be staying at her parents house until we get our head above water.

To be honest, I’m REALLY excited about this move. I can’t wait to be back in HOME in LA. This time we’re older and we will be able to make the right decisions regarding LIFE.

Family Weekend

Published by Joe under Family

This weeekend came and gone probably because we spent the whole time together and had a ton of fun.  Yesterday we had lunch at Smokey Bones in North Charleston.  Jojo’s favorite restaurant here because of their infamous Mac N Cheese. Junalyn made a funny joke that she ordered Jojo Shrimp with Brocolli and got Jojo really worried and kind of mad =/.  But when the food was served she was all laughs and said she knew that Mommy ordered her the Mac N Cheese.  After lunch we headed home and June got stuck playing Peggle on the PC.  It’s a very addictive game and if you haven’t given it a try they have a the trial version available at popcap.com.  I think she played around 4-5 hours on that, which was cool with me because I got to watch the final four.  But sadly both of the teams I wanted to win lost =/ UCLA and UNC.  Oh well I gotta give it up to Memphis and the Jayhawks for playing top notch ball.
Today we headed out to Summerville for the annual Flowertown Festival.  It was our first time going there and we were pleasantly surprised at how much stuff there was to do there.  We tried our very first kettlecorn, which was great.  Apparently it’s a southern snack thing.  Then Jojo went on several rides and had a blast.  We walked.. then walked.. then walked again.  I think the festival was about 5 blocks long and about 2 blocks wide, needless to say it was alot of walking.
After all that walking, we headed home and was just napped.  After napping, I watched the movie “Vantage Point” and thought it was a pretty good movie.  Nothing spectacular but decent, the only thing I would say I didn’t like about the movie was the ending but overall it was good.
Now it’s time to watch the Lakers play Sacramento.  It’s going to be a good game and I hope LA doesn’t take Sac for granted and avenge the loss they had against them at home.
